One must wonder what it is that brings so many to a place such as this. The promise of "second chances"? But of what use are they, when they go unused? Or are you content to live here, simply attending school and mingling with anything given entry to this fair city?

Ramza, are you certain you did not flee Ivalice? It is to be expected that you wish whatever lies behind your choice to leave and come to this place to remain hidden, then. Not only do you associate with rabble, but it seems you now keep the company of rabble-rousers as well! What will you next pluck from the street?

How can mere fog become so threatening? It is ridiculous to think that something intangible keeps us confined. What will follow? That this fog is in fact all those who vanish leave behind?

Had I known what I would find in this place, I'd have remained in Ivalice.

But I've something to tell all who demand "equality". Mayhap you will take it to heart, as a warning.

I know of a man who walked where he should never have walked, side by side with his betters when he ought have been content at their feet. He may have been led to hold false beliefs, but he could never become more than what he was, and no one in his right mind would think otherwise. Finally, his folly cost him everything.

Talk of the weather continues to be rather popular of late, I see - and now I suppose disappearances and strange visions cannot be far behind.

But if we truly are to believe that one may meet faces from the past and the future in this place, and those who are fated to die delay their fate - be it only while they remain here, this thick fog and whatever it is thought to bring are hardly strange in comparison. It has quickly become a nuisance, yes, but I've seen even stranger things yet.

Is this land filled only with former travelers who have come from outside its borders?

I see it was no exaggeration that this land differs greatly from Ivalice.

Small wonder, then, that it must turn elsewhere to find better-trained dogs. A lenient master cannot hope to teach them obedience and deference - and a dog that will not obey its master loses its use and even becomes a threat. There is but one fate that awaits such a creature.
